Parts of the Font

x-height of a font - the height of a lowercase letter excluding ascenders and descenders

cap height - height of the capital letter

serrif - a "foot" for a font

ascender/descender - a part of a lowercase letter beyond the x-height (ex. bh/py)

vertical/diagonal bias - does the font sit straight up and down? (Look at the letter O)
